The Apple USB-C to Lightning Charge and Sync Cable (1m) bridges Lightning iPhones to the USB-C world. If you use a MacBook, a USB-C wall charger or a USB-C hub as your charging source, this is the cable that connects your Lightning iPhone to them. With an 18W or 20W USB-C adapter, it enables fast charging on iPhone 8 through iPhone 14 - taking the battery from flat to 50% in around 30 minutes. USB 2.0 data transfer enables wired sync between iPhone and Mac via Finder. This is the official Apple cable for that connection - genuine Lightning authentication, Apple's power delivery specification, 1 metre, in white. If you own an iPhone 15, 16 or 17, those models use USB-C and require a USB-C to USB-C cable instead.

Apple's USB-C to Lightning cable supports fast charging on iPhone 8 and all later Lightning iPhones - up to iPhone 14 Pro Max. Fast charging requires an 18W or higher USB-C Power Adapter (not included). With an 18W or 20W adapter, it charges a compatible iPhone from 0% to around 50% in approximately 30 minutes, compared to over 3 hours with a standard 5W USB-A charger. The iPhone's charge circuitry manages the charge rate - the cable and adapter establish the maximum available power, the phone draws what it needs.

All modern MacBooks use USB-C ports exclusively. Without a USB-C to Lightning cable, connecting a Lightning iPhone to a MacBook requires an adapter - this cable eliminates that entirely. Important: This cable has Lightning on one end and USB-C on the other. It is for iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone X/XS/XR/8 and Lightning iPads. iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 use USB-C on the phone end - those models require a USB-C to USB-C cable, not this one.
